Meet Abe Glassman

Thanks to the love and support of his wife, “Bevy,” former South Windsor Mayor and State Representative Abe Glassman, 89, achieved a pretty successful political and business career spanning nearly five decades. In this interview, he talks about his life, which included starting a bank, purchasing an ice skating rink, serving as a deputy marshall, helping building a synagogue and his first vending company which sold nickel candy bars.

Meet Sally Edlund

Nearly 60 years ago Sally Edlund, 92, South Windsor Historical Society Historian, got the opportunity to buy a privately-owned nursery school in South Windsor.  After several local banks rejected her request for the needed $5,000 loan she received help – and the loan – from an unexpected source.
